The following steps are taken when Sunset Home Improvements installs
new replacement windows in your home.
1.
On-Site Engineering
Our installation
manager visits the home, by appointment, to make concise measurements
of the windows to be replaced. This data is fed to state-of-the-art
computers in the factory to custom build your windows and doors.
Important: On final measure, the installation manager reviews all
aspects of products that were originally requested. If there are
any changes of customer or customer requests, they are made now
and signed off and at that time the order will be immediately submitted
for production.
2.
Manufacturing
Windows are
then assembled with the highest standards in the industry to provide
unequaled quality and durability.
3.
Scheduling
Our installation
manager sets up an installation date convenient to you and an installation
team is assigned to the job.
4.
First Steps in the Home
Our installation
team arrives by appointment. Drop cloths are used so that your carpet
or floor surfaces are not ruined.
5. Homeowner's Responsibilities
You should remove draperies, mini-blinds or any window treatment
prior to the arrival of technicians.
6.
Removal of Old Windows
Care is taken
to remove existing windows so we do not damage existing stucco or
interior wall. Old windows are not removed unless new windows can
be installed at the same time. This ensures that your home will
always remain secure.
6a.
Removal of All Stops
Your window
sash is held in place by exterior and interior wooden stop strips
that must be removed first.
6b.
Removal of Sash & Hardware
Next the sash
with the glass panes are removed along with any hardware they came
with or that remain on the window frame.
6c.
Clean-up of Sub-Frame
Finally, the
Sub-Frame is cleaned up, removing any obstructions and old hardware
that might still be attached to it. The old windows and materials
are then removed from the property.
7.
Installation of New Window
Your new custom
fit windows and doors are professional installed by our factory-trained
technicians. Installation of the trim is the final step. Great care
is taken to provide a neat, clean, and finished appearance.
8.
Insulation and Trim Wrap
Once fastened
to the sub-frame, insulation is applied to the space between the
sub-frame surface and new window casing to ensure complete weatherproofing
of the window.
Optional: The exterior trim can be covered with a vinyl wrap to
match the new vinyl window. By adding this feature, the entire exterior
of window will be completely maintenance free.
9.
Window Cleanup
All stickers
are removed from windows and then cleaned. All old windows and doors
are removed from the job site along with excess debris.
10.
Inspection & Check-Off
The job site
foreman will review installation with the homeowner. Upon your complete
satisfaction, you will be asked to sign a completion certificate
and check off sheet.
